Rob’s boss had been hinting for a German Chocolate Cake for a long time. Since his birthday was on the 17th I made him his cake. He kept on saying that it is Martin Gras since it was his birthday, his name is Martin. So at 1am I decorated this cake quickly before heading to bed. I loved the masked, they were done freehand using fondant and painted gold and silver. Then I just did some buttercream beads to add some more decorations.

Rob started to run at the end of January to get into shape and to challenge himself. So on April 20th he entered his first 5k race. Bright and early we were forced from our peaceful sleep to run and to provide support. He ran as I stood on the sidelines supporting, there is no way I was running!
Here is a bad picture taken with Rob’s cell phone. Can you beleive I left my camera at home!! He finished the 3.1 mile race with an official time of 31 minutes 54 seconds.
He will be running his second race sometime in May, Nichole may join him. Hopefully I will have my camera the next time!

Emily insisted she was going to be the one to decorate sissy’s cake. So of course it had to have pink on it!

Where has the time gone?
Nichole is seventeen years old today!
For her birthday dinner I am making some oriental foods and even one from India. O.k. the Samosa was in the frozen food section but Nichole likes to try new things so I bought it. Emily wants to help make the cake and it is going to the the Chocolate Strawberry Fudge Torte. On Saturday we are going to Austin Park and Pizza with some friends.

If you havent heard by now things are changing at Starbucks. The changes are suppose to enhance the legendary service Starbucks is always striving for.
We had to have a whole store meeting to relearn how to brew coffee and to taste the new cofee Pike Place Roast. I have to say this coffee is pretty good, I could even drink it black. Since a good pairing for this coffee is chocolate I brought in a cake for everyone could enjoy.
I erased the S after Pikes place, before I brought it in. Good thing Rob pays attention to those kinds of things.
The cake is a Chocolate Fudge Strawberry Torte, it is very rich with fresh strawberries. Mmmmm… The cups were made of white chocolate as well as the letters.

We are starting to see some changes in our backyard, here are a few pictures of the new growth.

We are also laying down the flagstone around the pond, this picture is just a picture of the work in progress. I was hoping that we could have finished it during the weekend but I ended up with a cold, maybe next weekend?

This year we had the Keiser Family over again and we Natalie with her parents over as well. We had a wonderful dinner of ham, scalloped potatoes, and many other goodies. After dinner we had a easter egg hunt, after Erika brought over her eggs there were over 300 eggs for the kids to hunt for.

Here is one of Natalie, we used Nicholes basket because once Natalie found one egg she lost interest in the rest.

Erika brought some Easter pencils for the hunt as well. After the eggs were gone, the kids inside the house breaking open the eggs… guess what was left outside.

We always try to dye eggs, it is fun but smelly!
The kids woke up to once again, the bunny trail of jelly beans. Make sure your Easter Bunny doesnt start this because it will never end.
Then it was time to fill those eggs for the Easter Egg hunt, Andrew and Emily helped me out.
Here are over 200 stuffed eggs in this tote!

O.k. Andrew and his dad had this crazy idea of letting Andrew have long hair. I am all for it to a certain length but Rob won everytime. It went back to when he was growing up and wanting long hair and not being allowed to. So Andrew kept his long hair until…. Chocolate FONDUE.
Yes, you read right Fondue. A mom approved hair cut for a second night of chocolate fondue for dessert. Without a second thought Andrew was ready for his haircut!! YEA!!
