Today as I was driving down the road I seen a cooked chicken behind me so I took a picture, at a stop light.(had to put that in for my mom)
Here is the parked truck with the chicken, Emily thought it was the funniest thing she ever seen.
I take that back, once she seen this pair driving down the road it was declared to be the funniest thing:
Here they are smiling at us, the nerve of them. They dont realize they are dogs, who really should not be driving.
O.k. they were not really driving. We had pulled into a parking space and the way they were sitting in the front seat and staring at us it sort of looked funny. So I had to get my camera out and take a picture of the doggies.

My cousin Cecelia celebrated her birthday the day after Andrew’s so I had another cake to make.

On May 30th Andrew turned 10 years old. Once again I ask myself where has the time gone.
A week before his birthday after I picked him up from school he told me the results from the vote. Uh, vote? What vote?? He told me there was vote in his class on what kind of cake I was going to bring in for his birthday. He said everyone voted for the chocolate strawberry fudge torte cake.
So here is his cake for his classroom:

On Saturday my boss had her wedding reception, she was married in Hawaii a week before. For her reception I was to make her cookie favors as well as the grooms cake.
I knew that this project would take a while so I started to bake some cookies before I went to Starbucks Monday through Wednesday. I also had Natalie with me in the day time so I thought a few batches of dough would be an o.k. amount to do nightly.
Then as time went by, the oven started to act wierd. I ended up baking the cookies one pan at a time on the top rack only. If I placed anything on the bottom it burned within a couple of minutes. The cookies on top had to be turned in the middle of the baking time, so every three minutes I had to turn the pan or the cookies in the back would burn. The cake was already baked by this point so I didnt have to worry about that part at least. On Friday I ended up getting three of sleep as the baking took too long and I was unable to keep up. Saturday the involuntary service was started, o.k. they did volunteer on their own. Rob and Nichole stepped in and helped me out so much. In the end the cookies were not what the bride wanted but the cake was completed. We ended up at the reception place late but in enough time to not set up before too many guests showed up. I had Rob drive as I was just so strung out by this point. In the end the bride was more than happy, she was more worried about me than the cookies. She said everyone LOVED the cookies as well as the cake. I guess her step daughter was hunting down cookies during the reception. So those that were unclaimed by others were quickly claimed and hidden by her. So in the end it ended up o.k. but man, that was not fun at all.

Here are the cookies in their bags, notice the pretty bows. I can’t say I did those, my bows were terrible. So Rob tied them all for me!

Last but not lease the grooms cake, the chocolate covered strawberries were made by Nichole, she did a great job. To me the cake was a bit sloppy and I know I could of done a better job. I am so glad this project is over, for some reason I think Rob and Nichole feel the same way!

The other day we were leaving the house and the next door neighbor had someone over doing some lawn work. The worker’s truck was parked on the street with the music blaring so he could hear it as he worked.
On the way to the car Emily stopped, faced the worker and with her hands on her hips she yelled ” Turn your music off, it is horrible!!!”
She is never shy telling people what she thinks that is for sure.

Nichole came home last week and told us about the guests that were in her classroom for Career Day. For Career Day you can imagine that there was maybe a doctor, a police officer or a rodeo clown there right??? O.k. the doctor wasnt there but there was a police officer AND a rodeo clown!!!! Now that is what I want Nichole to be when she graduates!!
Only in Texas???

I went to work after Nichole’s birthday dinner and cake. When I got back home I seen a picture on my computer and thought to myself what the heck happened here. As I get closer to the computer I notice that the sink is familiar looking. Then I read Rob’s note attached to the picture, it said: Emily decided to help me clean up the chocolate. Then it hit me, this is my sink in my bathroom!! Not some other poor mom’s sink it is mine!!!

Whenever I have enough time to sit down for my breaks or lunches at work I break out my bag, my yarn and crochet needle. So that is why I call them Starbucks Preemie hats or blankets as they are created at work.
When Emily was born she had to stay in the NICU for a little while and there were volunteers that made preemie clothing. It was so hard to find something that would fit Emily and the things I had recieved at the hospital were appreciated. Ever since then I wanted to give back Every now and then Jill ( Natalies mom) visits the NICU as a part of her job so she brings in my items to be given to the babies.
