I am putting a number behind each post so if you want to look at them in order you can.
The first day we got there after dinner we went to see my neice Larissa (I call her Rissa) play volleyball. She has been playing for a couple of years now and she is pretty good. Here are a couple of pictures I took during her practice. No pictures were taken during the game as I didnt ant to mess her up. Plus I didnt want to be remembered as Larissas crazy picture taking aunt getting kicked out.

Well, I was going to put all my pictures on flickr or Kodak or some free website to view pictures. After trying to upload 1363 pictures from the trip a few times over I gave that idea up. I guess I shocked their uploading programs? So I am going to post pictures in a few posts. The good news, Rob found our Grand Canyon and the rest of our missing pictures!!! YEAH!!!!

Hello everyone
Just a little note to let everyone know we are now home. We are busy unpacking, washing dirty laundry and catching a bit of the Olympics.
It was a great trip, the only thing is tha it went way too fast. I took Tons of pictures and sadly… I dont know how we lost our Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam pictures!!! We were viewing them on the computer yesterday and we had them and now we they are gone. Boo Hoo!! On the other hand I have around 800 pictures to go through to share. I think I am going to post a few here and then post a link to flickr or something like that for the rest. I will be working on those in the next few days.
Now that I am back home, I go back to work tonight and my next day off is Friday. During the week I will be baking, decorating a wedding and grooms cake for 400 or so for a wedding next Saturday. It is very hot here in Texas, and very humid!! So this could be another fun adventure and a need for a another vacation? Maybe back to the Grand Canyon to take some more pictures???

It was bound to happen, we jinxed ourselves. On our way out to Ca we talked about experiencing an earthquake while we were visiting. Well, here you go the information from the last earthquake we just had!!!
A moderate earthquake occurred at 11:42:15 AM (PDT) on Tuesday, July 29, 2008.
The magnitude 5.8 event occurred 3 km (2 miles) SW of Chino Hills, CA.
The hypocentral depth is 12 km ( 8 miles).

Bright and early yesterday, o.k. it was early but not so bright when we left yesterday on our way to Ca. We are going back to visit family then continue on our own family trip. For the first time in Castilleja Family Reunion History the reunion is not in Texas. This year the reunion is being held in Pismo Beach, Ca. Go figure they decide to try it out AFTER we move from Ca.
After the reunion we will be heading back early so we could have our own vacation. We will be stopping in Vegas, the Grand Canyon, among other places on the way.

I know I am late posting about this visit but here they are finally!!
In June Rob’s parents Mike and Linda along with Grandma Lou came to visit us for a week. Here are some pictures of their visit:
A good portion of of the time was spent competing each other on the Wii. The worst was the older two of the boys. They even stayed up past midnight, a rare thing for the old guys!
Every now and then the guys let the girls play:
Some of the time was spent putting together a puzzle, one of Grandma Lou’s favorite thing to do.
Time for cooking lessons! Grandma Linda always has the kids help with making freezer jam. It is something the kids always look forward to. For me I look forward to the bisquits that goes with the jam. Sure the jam is great on them but I LOVE the sausage gravy the best. I could learn how to make it but it will never taste the same so it is a treat when I get it!

Now before you push that button Andrew, make sure the blender is all the way on the base. Otherwise you get smoke and this:
The rubber part to the bottom of the blender was rubbed down a bit. Now it was time for Grandma to help Andrew out. Notice her holding the blender down, just in case.

Every school year is a struggle for Nichole and this year was no exception. She had to attend summer school once again. Nichole is a very smart and I know she could do good in school if she even tried. That is her issue, she doesnt want to be in school, she doesnt want to be in the classroom, she doesnt want to do her work and there are a few other issues as well. I know she could do it if she put some effort into it!
The school year starts later this year so summer school runs later. Nichole had to go but the time frame for summer school ran into our vacation plans. When we enrolled her we were told if she passes with a 89 she doesnt have to take the second half and she would pass, the class is Algebra 1. She has NEVER been good in the Math department. So this worried me, ALOT.
Today was the last day of the first session, and she called home to let me know her grade. I took a deep breath and held it waiting to hear what it was… and guess what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SHE GOT A 89!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
