Thirty four years ago I was born, ever since that wonderful day I have provided nothing but joy in my parents lives. Right mom and dad??? right???
Today started as any other day, when the sun comes up. O.k. that started after Emily was born, she insists the day must start when the sun comes up. I stayed in my favorite PJs till about 2 oclock. Yep, I was comfortable and if I couldnt sleep in I thought hat was the next best thing.
A picture of my favorite PJs, can you see the Mickey Mouse on front? Not bad for being my birthday gift when I was sixteen!!
For dinner we are going to the most romantic place ever. You all wish you could spend every birthday here, where you ask. Well Chuck E Cheese! Duh!! I bet you all knew that. Why you ask?? Well tomorrow is Emilys birthday and we are trading birthday dinners. There is no way you will find me in a Chuck E Cheese on a Friday, so I will gladly trade.
Nothing much has changed this year for me, with the exception of a few more white hairs.
Here is the proof! Look at them, gasp. I am not going to fight them as I have found out I will lose the battle every time. No hair dye will stay so I need to as gracefully as I can accept my fate. White hair just happens, even younger for my family. I blame most of them on the kids. Plus the rolls on my stomach, I blame them for those too. I will spare you, no pictures of the rolls.
Well that is all for now. Now you could wait paitently with me to see if I will get a cake today or not. So what if I bake cakes, why doesnt anyone bake any for me??

We interrupt the regulary scheduled vacation posts until my laptop is returned, hopefully fixed. We have been having some issues with my laptop so we sent it in to be fixed since it was still under warranty.
I hope this story makes up for the wait.
Lets call this story ” You know you are not in Ca when”
Today I went to the Starbucks in town to get a much needed caffiene fix. I parked, opened my car door and heard a gun firing. Over and over it went, I ducked back into the car and shut the door. Looked around for people fleeing the scene, where was the gun, where was the gunman??? This Ca transplant now in Texas was a little scared.
I dont see nothing, and it seemed to stop so I get out and go into Starbucks. Yeah, I still needed my drink and I wanted to know what was going on. I asked about it and they said it has been going on all day long. I went in for a drink but I ended up covering for one of the partners who was sick ( I work at another Starbucks and cover for the Pflugerville store every now and then).
While I was working a police officer came in to talk to us. I found out what the shooting was from… did you guys know today was the start of Dove Hunting Season???

We left Ca the day after the reunion, no tears were shed. Oh who am I kidding some of us were close to bawling.
Along the way we noticed these plants/trees and they tended to be in certain areas.
Finally at a rest stop we found out what they were
Just a FYI for Lindsey and Greg, they are part of the yucca family. Sure you dont have these growing in your front yard?
We also seen a caboose that was actually attached to a train. I think if I read right it was in the 80s when they stopped using cabooses. If I am wrong I am sure my train loving dad will correct me.
In the middle of our drive to Vegas we noticed how dark the sky was getting in the distance. It sort of looked like a thunder storm but at the same time it didnt.
We kept on turning the radio stations to see what anyone would tell us. It kept on getting darker and darker. Then we figured it out, a dust storm.
Here is a picture taken on our way out of storm, as you could see we beat the worst of it. Only then we heard on the radio that the dust storm was really bad with 0 visibility. Whew…
Once we thought we were free and clear we hit a thunder storm! This was our view out the front window!

Trying to get these out before I have to send this laptop in to get fixed. Here are some pictures from the reunion:
For the last few years we have had a flag salute and a tribute to those in the family that have served in the military.
We have all those who have served come up front and we give them a little gift from the family. This part of the reunion has become a favorite part for many.
We also sell tickets and have things brought in for a raffle. This helps with the cost of the reunions, along with a silent auction. We have been able to start a scholarship fund as well because of these funds.
Andrew had high hopes on winning something
When he seen the potential prizes he told everyone he was going to win a jar of bubblegum.
Then the numbers were called and guess what, HE WON!

We had to leave the beach and have a prereunion reunion?? I guess you would call it that. The place they had the gathering was held during a farmers market near the Pismo Beach Pier. So we got to meet family and get some great veggies and fruit.

After a few days with my sister we drove up to Pismo Beach. For the last 24 years my mother’s side of the family has a HUGE family reunion. Every year it has been held in Texas, taking turns being hosted in different cities. They wanted a try something new so they held this reunion in Pismo Beach, Ca.
A few family members got together and rented a beach house. Not only did it save us money it gave us an opputunity to hear those family stories before bedtime.

I just got back from vacation, went back to work on Saturday and kept on working till Thursday. To top it off I had a wedding and grooms cake due today!!
I need to find a new frosting recipe, cause this humidity is killing me, or rather my cakes. I had to do some what I would call major touch ups at the hall. Thank goodness Rob came along and he was “volunteered” to help me fix the cake.

I am putting a number behind each title if you choose to read the posts in order the pictures were taken.
Here is our trip to Disneyland, we left early in the morning and spent the whole day there. By the end of the day we were all worn out, feet were sore and ready to go to bed. We (as in the adults) had a good laugh the next day because we were very very sore from all the walking. My aunt Frances who came with us said it made her feel better, to have us younger ones in as much pain as she was in. Made her feel as “young” as we were.
You could tell we were back in Ca just by looking at this picture

Em was in a shop trying out hats and she found this one ( it is Stitch from the movie Lilo and Stitch, just in case if you are not familiar with the charactor)

One day we all went bowling and had a great time. Lets just say the bumpers really do help my game!! The kids got to use a ramp and bumpers, no wonder they had great scores!
