It happens when your children grow old enough to hold a crayon, a brush or even use their fingers. They come home with artwork, the holidays are swamped with creations. Here we have one created by Andrew this year, he brought it home today. It is a bit different than other creations, it is more grown up in style. No more cute Santas with cotton ball beards, now we have Robot Santa!

I thought this would be a really cool idea, having a countdown of sorts. So let me get started with, drum roll………
Here is the idea, every day till Christmas I will post a picture that is taken around the house, outside, during activities or ect that relates to my family celebrating Christmas. I remember when I was younger at night my legs would bother me. I had the joy of experiencing growing pains. Now Em is up at night doing the same thing. O.k. there is no fun in this experience.
For those who wonder what it is all about here is a picture to show what is going on. Notice how her leg bones are not as long as they should be, they are stretching out to catch up and causing pain. Her feet bones are pratically to her knees, poor thing.
O.k. we were goofing off and you cant really see her bones. She is really experiencing the growing pains though….

Em and I belong to a mothers group from church that we both enjoy. A few members of our church has a ministry that helps the homeless. They have a church service downtown and they help the homeless while they are there by giving food or other needs. Recently the group has started to see children attend the services, I think it is because of the economy. So our moms group decided to do things to help the children. It give our children something to think about when they are putting together bags. We gathered toys, hygiene things and other odds and ends and we put them in bags. I decided to make some little backpacks so they could carry their things.

Then on a blog ( dont know what site ) I found this idea, so Em and I made a turkey hand shirt. The best thing, it turned out!!!! YEAH!!

If I counted right Baby Mia is our 104th member of our family from grandparents on down. ( on my mother’s side )

She was born a little after midnight, five weeks early. Instead of Christmas she wanted to enjoy some turkey this Thanksgiving? Mother and baby are doing fine.

Well on Friday I went to work, everyone looked at me with a look of frustration and maybe a touch of craziness. I was covering for another shift, it was my day off. I had asked if I should tell Katie to forget it and run out the door as fast as I could.
Our goal for the day on sales was $5400, they use last years sales and up it. For the last couple of months we have bombed, we couldnt even get close to the goal. I told my new manager that one day the store will explode once the holiday shopping/cold weather starts. I think she didnt beleive me, until today.
At 6pm we had reached our goal, at close we ended up with $6400!! Lets just say we served more than 3200 drinks that day.
Dont you just love the holiday season.

To our family and friends that have served in the military, we thank you for your service. I found this poem online and thought it was a good one to share. It says it all..
They Did Their Share
On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.
Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;
In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.
Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.
No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.
Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.
We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say “thank you” to every wearer.

On Saturday I went to my cousin Monica’s baby shower, here are a few pictures to share with you all.
Of course I have to start with the cake, besides the new baby this is the next important thing at a baby shower. Here is a couple of shots of the cake:

This year was a bit different than other years as there were little to almost no outside decorations. I ran out of time to decorate outside, I bet Rob is happy about that as the cleanup takes much too long. Hey, there is no more spiderwebs that are still up when we start putting the Christmas lights up!
We did have time to carve pumpkins, well Emily and Andrew did. Nichole wasnt into it this year as she wasnt allowed to go to a party.

At our church they had a Slime Time Fall Fest, I was in charge of the photo backdrop. I drug Nichole to help me set up and here she is with the backdrop:

It just wouldnt be Halloween with no decorations outside, we needed something to keep an eye out.

Now that the kids are in bed it is time to raid the candy bag!! I am really just checking to see if there is anything that they shouldnt have in there, all about safety.
